Japanese drone service major Terra Drone Corporation announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aramco to explore the development of cutting-edge drone, robotics, and AI-driven technologies customised for the oil and gas industry.

Aramco, Terra Drone collaborate
The MOU aims to foster deeper collaboration between the two to develop drone technologies that enhance safety and operational efficiency across the energy sector.
The agreement will serve as a collaborative platform for research and development, technology trials, training programs, and localised operations.
“This MOU is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to innovation and localisation, in partnership with Aramco,” said Toru Tokushige, Founder & CEO of Terra Drone Corporation.
“Through Terra Drone Arabia, we will deliver advanced drone solutions that not only boost operational performance but also build local capability through collaborative R&D and workforce development,” he said.
This agreement is expected to lay a strong foundation for a long-term strategic partnership between Aramco and the Japanese company.
Following a strategic investment from Wa’ed Ventures in 2023, Terra Drone, which was recently ranked the No.1 Drone Service Provider in the world for 2024, has accelerated its presence in the Kingdom through the establishment of Terra Drone Arabia.
This local entity is focused on three strategic objectives – short-term localisation of drone services, long-term development of local R&D and manufacturing capabilities and creating high-quality employment opportunities for Saudi talent, the company said.
